Here we have a fantastic D-28 from the early 50's. This one showed up with the '51 D-18 in the shop, and like I said in the other listing, they make quite a pair. There's an energy in these guitars that only comes from decades of playing - you just can't fake it with a newer build. You can feel it rumbling against your chest when strumming a nice open chord. This one and the D-18 are both ready to spend a lifetime with someone, and they're ready to play. Comes with what looks to be the original case.

Brazilian rosewood back/sides
Adirondack spruce top (a "mystery" top guitar, but probably Adirondack)
14-fret dreadnought body
Soft V neck profile
Ebony fretboard and bridge
Mahogany neck
1 11/16" nut, 2 1/8" spacing, 25 1/4" scale

Cosmetically, this guitar is in good condition for the age. You can expect finish checking, bumps, scrapes, and dings. It plays fantastic, and there's lots of saddle remaining. It's set up for Mediums, but I have Lights on it now for consistency in the shop.

It's had a recent neck reset and refret, and the bridge/saddle and one bridge pin have been replaced. There's also an ebony shim under the fretboard tongue. There's a small finish crack out from the bottom edge of the pick guard, but it appears old and stable.
